TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's swimming & diving capped their home slate of the season in style, bringing home a 189-110 dual meet victory on Senior Day over the Skidmore Throughbreads Saturday afternoon at Robison Pool.
Standing out of the crowd with first collegiate wins were sophomore
Megan Lewis and freshman
Madeline Erickson. Lewis placed first in the Women's 1000 meter freestyle. Teammate
Megan Beaulieu finished behind Lewis, coming in second in the same event while also collecting first place finishes in the 200 meter backstroke and as a member of the 200 meter freestyle relay team.
The 200 meter freestyle relay team consisted of Beaulieu, Erickson, and
Gabriela Crother-Collado. Erickson also had herself a day in the water, pulling in her first collegiate victory in the 200 meter freestyle.
Putting up another strong weekend was sophomore
Shannon Brown, as she put up individual victories in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, while also taking a second place finish in the 50 freestyle. Brown was also a part of the first-place finishing 200 medley relay team that also consisted of
Colleen Whittaker,
Alyssa Cahill, and
Ola Nawrocki.
The Engineers return to action tomorrow, Sunday, January 22 at 1 p.m. when they head to Schenectady to take on Union in a dual meet.
