GENEVA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team was held scoreless through 90 minutes of play Friday afternoon, as they were defeated at William Smith College by a 3-0 final.

The Herons scored first in the fifth minute, as Ava Ruppersberger found the back of the net on a feed from Seneca Blakely-Armitage to give William Smith an early 1-0 lead.

William Smith added a second first half goal via a penalty kick, as Ruth Hotaling converted the opportunity to give the Herons a 2-0 lead.

The third and final goal for the Herons came in the 64th minute, as Blakely-Armitage and Hotaling teamed up. Blakely-Armitage scored, with Hotaling providing the helper as William Smith took a 3-0 lead. The Herons held on with that score through the final whistle.
