ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team dropped their second game in as many days in Western New York, falling to the RIT Tigers by a final score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers struck in the 12th minute, as Elena Onodera collected her fourth goal of the season courtesy of Rachel Marriott to give RIT the early 1-0 lead. The score remained through halftime before Jessie Gomez scored in the opening minute of the second half.
Gomez scored off a pass from Onodera, tallying her fifth goal of the season as RIT pumped their lead to 2-0. RPI struggled to convert offense in the second half, putting up three shots in the 90 minutes - with one in the last 45 minutes.
RPI returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 21 when they return home to ECAV Stadium to face Clarkson at 2 p.m.
