ITHACA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's swimming and diving team finished the four-day Liberty League Championships in third place on Saturday, as Ithaca (1619) and Vassar (1277) finished ahead of the Engineers.
A trio of second place finishes highlighted Saturday's action for the Engineers, led by a second from
Alyssa Cahill in the Women's 200 yard backstroke. She put up a time of 2:03.28, which gives her an NCAA Qualifying B Cut effort.
Also recording a second place finish was
Shannon Brown, who did so in the 100 Freestyle. Brown also finished second along with Cahill,
Ola Nawrocki, and
Colleen Whittaker in the Women's 400 Freestyle Relay. Brown's second place in the 100 Freestyle set a new school record, as she scored a time of 51.83.
Gabriela Crother-Collado and
Emma Wojnarowski finished back-to-back in the 1650 Freestyle, as the duo took home third and fourth place in the event. Rounding out the top finishes for RPI were a pair of sixth place finishes from
Chloe Jepson in the 200 Breaststroke, and
Megan Beaulieu in the 200 Backstroke.
