ORLANDO, Fla. - In a match that lasted around four hours in 90 degree temperatures, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team won two doubles matches and five in singles to defeat Haverford College 7-2. The Engineers improve to 5-1, including four straight wins, while the Fords drop to 0-1.
Nikki Ridenour and
Sabrina Grewal both had two wins on the day, beginning with separate doubles victories. Grewall and
Masha Karach tied the match at 1-1 with an 8-6 win at No. 3 before Ridenour and
Lorna Flores Gonzalez posted an 8-7 (7-3) win at No. 1.
Ridenour went on to a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles and Grewal won in three sets,Â
6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Brooke Bauer also had a three-set win, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, at No. 5.
