GENEVA, N.Y. - Behind multiple victories by five student-athletes, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team swept a Liberty League contest against William Smith College 9-0 at the HWS Tennis Center. The No. 34 Engineers improve to 12-4 overall and 5-2 in the conference, while the Herons drop to 7-10 and 2-5.

RPI's top doubles team of Nikki Ridenour and Lorna Flores Gonzalez earned the first win of the day with an 8-3 victory. That was followed by wins from a pair of new tandems with Alex Mednikova and Sabrina Grewal winning at No. 3 and Brooke Bauer and Masha Karach taking No. 2.

Krisia Flores Gonzalez made it 4-0 for the visitors with a love-love win at No. 6 singles and Ridenour clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 1. Karach (No. 5), Bauer (No. 4), Mednikova (No. 2) and Lorna Flores Gonzalez (No. 3) all followed with their second wins of the morning.
