PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Matt Lecky set the school record in the 5000 meters and three others ran the same distance for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's track & field teams at the prestigious, multi-divisional Penn Relays.

Running in Heat 2, Lecky finished in a time of 14:07.10 to place first in his group and 14th overall in the 77-competitor field. He was less than a second from 13th Just five places back was teammate Cory Kennedy, who ran a 14:09.13, while Jason Gibbons came in 48th place in 14:33.97. There were four runners from Division III and Lecky and Kennedy were the top two, respectively. 

In the women's 5K, Morgan Lee was 14th of 27 in her heat and 49th of 69 overall with a time of 16:55.24. She was one of two from Division III to compete and she was the first to cross the finish line.
