Women's Track & Field Continues Winter at Dartmouth

HANOVER, NH - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's track & field team delivered a strong showing today at the Dartmouth December Invite, with numerous Engineers recording top-five finishes across sprint, jump, hurdle, and throwing events in the team's second meet of the 2024–25 indoor season.

Leading the way was junior Alice Brambati, who turned runner-up finishes in both the long and triple jump. She soared 5.34 meters in the long jump to finish second overall and later added a second-place effort of 11.13 meters in the triple. Brambati also placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.15 seconds, anchoring a group of four RPI hurdlers to top-seven finishes. Right behind her in the hurdles was Emma McGuinn in fourth (9.23), followed by Lillybeth Kurosz (6th, 10.09) and Gabby Irvin (7th, 10.52).

In the sprints, Alyssa Fici placed fourth in the 60-meter dash in 8.11 seconds, with McGuinn returning to take sixth in the same event (8.32). Maeve Murphy added a fifth-place finish in the 300 meters with a time of 44.66 seconds, while RPI claimed two of the top four spots in the 500 meters: Laura Hoag placed third (1:22.15) and Anoua Carrie was just behind in fourth (1:22.21).

In field events, the Engineers dominated the top ranks across multiple areas. Sonia Staroscik cleared 1.45 meters for a fourth-place finish in the high jump and added a sixth-place result in the triple jump (9.79 meters). Ainsley Rausch and Isabelle Sullivan earned fourth and fifth in the pole vault at 2.95 and 2.30 meters, respectively. In the long jump, Irvin (5th, 4.79m) and Murphy (6th, 4.69m) joined Brambati in the scoring column.

RPI's throwers also impressed, highlighted by a first-place finish in the weight throw from Katie Lynch, who reached 14.95 meters. Grace Richard (4th, 12.00m) and Kylie Allen (6th, 11.62m) rounded out the top-six for the Engineers. Lynch added a fourth-place showing in the shot put (11.26m), with Allen placing fifth in the same event (10.62m).
