LATHAM, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team continued the strong start to their season as they defeated Oneonta by a final score of 9-0 on Monday afternoon at Tri-City Fitness. The Engineers have yet to surrender a point in a dual match this season.
RPI started strong, putting up wins on all three doubles courts.
Nicole Ridenour and
Lorna Flores Gonzalez set the tone from the top doubles spot, scoring an 8-2 win while
Masha Karach and
Lina Krumpel won at No. 2 by the same score.
Brooke Bauer and
Prisha Rapur rounded out doubles play with an 8-4 win.
Playing a modified singles format for this match, the Engineers swept through singles play, with Flores Gonzalez and Krumpel each collecting 8-0 victories at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
RPI returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 23 to begin the three-day ITA Northeast Regional hosted by William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y.
