TROY, N.Y. - A late goal in the 72nd minute hampered the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Engineers on Saturday afternoon, as they fell by a final score of 2-1 to Union at ECAV Stadium.

A goal from Wyatt Goldfisher would go on a run directly to the net from right around midfield as Ethan Layton bumped off an Engineers defender near the sideline in a bout for a 50/50 ball to win possession. Layton would make one touch and loft a cross in the direction of Goldfisher, would played it down between two RPI defenders, and fired a left-footed strike off a bounce directly over the goalkeeper.

Robbie Michalski opened the scoring for Union 27 minutes into the game, as he was able to put home his own rebound off a free kick played in the box to give the Garnet Chargers the 1-0 lead.

The Engineers evened the game at 54:14 after captain
Josh Gaudiano scored on a ball in the box from
Noah Gregory to push things to 1-1.
Union's Pual Agne made four saves in the win for Union, while
Colin Such also made four in net for the Engineers.
RPI returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. when they hit the road to take on Bard in Liberty League action.
