TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's swimming team ended their first weekend in 2024 in a big way, as they defeated Union College in a dual meet by a final score of 135=87 at Robison Pool Sunday afternoon.
 
The standout effort came from the men's 200 medley relay team, as they took first place in the event. Part of the relay team were both Tony Min and Mike Dowd, as both of them also earned first place finishes individually.
 
Min took first place in the 100 meter backstroke, while Dowd took the top spot in the 100 meter butterfly. Also with a strong day was Sam Ciegler, as he scored a pair of first place finishes with wins in the 1,000 freestyle and 50 freestyle.
 
RPI returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. when they go head-to-head with Skidmore College in Saratoga.
