BUFFALO, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team finished its weekend sweep of Canisius with a 8-3 triumph over the Griffs in the LECOM Harborcenter.
16 different Engineers recorded at least one point in the victory, as the Engineers put eight goals on the board for the just the second time since the 2017.
Tyler Hotson,
Dovar Tinling, and
Jagger Tapper each scored in the first period, while
Jake Gagnon,
Brad McNeil, and
Jakob Lee netted second period strikes to help RPI claim a 6-1 advantage through 40 minutes.
Rainers Rullers and
Will Gilson rounded out the Engineer scoring with goals in the third stanza.
Max Smolinski facilitated the RPI attack with a team-leading three assists. Tinling registered two assists as part of a three-point effort, and
Felix Caron also distributed a pair of helpers for his first collegiate points.

Gustavs Ozolins,
John Beaton,
Jack Brackett,
Nathan Sullivan, and
Arvils Bergmanis provided one assist each as well.
The Engineers will look ahead to next weekend's home opener, which sees Niagara visit Houston Field House for a matchups on Friday at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 5:00 pm.
