OXFORD, Ohio- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey completed its sweep of Miami University (Ohio) with a 2-1 victory tonight in the Goggin Ice Center.
Will Gilson broke open a 1-1 deadlock with the game-winner for RPI with four minutes gone in the third period.
After Tyler Hotson and Jagger Tapper worked together to win a puck battle in an offensive corner, Tapper slid a pass to an open Gilson in the slot for the go-ahead strike.
Felix Caron provided the Engineers with a 1-0 lead at 8:44 in the first, as he cashed in a 3-on-1 break using help from Jack Brackett.
Noah Giesbrecht recorded 30 saves, including 13 in the final 15 minutes to seal the win for the Engineers.
RPI will take a next weekend off before returning to ECAC play with a home contest on Friday, November 15 against Clarkson.Â
