TROY, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's ice hockey team completed its weekend sweep of Merrimack with a 2-1 triumph over the Warriors today in Houston Field House.

Sophia Jones and Audrey McCutcheon found the back of the net for the Engineers in the win.

Jones scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the first period, as she wristed home and attempt from the blue line with 11:20 remaining in the opening stanza.

McCutcheon doubled the margin at 11:45 in the third with a nifty move on a breakaway opportunity that was created by a perfect long pass ahead from Sabrina Beaudoin.

Taylor Larsen, Gracyn Mackay, and Morgann Skoda also provided one assist each to the RPI attack.

Goaltender Maelee Ambrass stopped 27-of-28 Merrimack shot attempts, with the only blemish of the afternoon coming with 21 seconds left to play after the Warriors pulled their goalie.

The Engineers will return to action on Tuesday at 11:00 am as Union visits for Kid's Day inside Houston Field House.
