Engineers Score Three Unanswered Goals to Register 4-1 Triumph Against Brown

TROY, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's ice hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the third period to tally a 4-1 ECAC victory against Brown tonight in Houston Field House.

Aylah Cioffi scored two goals and Magdalena Erbenova and Elie Kaiser logged one tally each in the win for the Engineers.

Cioffi got the scoring starting at 4:02 in the first period, as she was in the right spot to deposit a pass from Nyah Phillip, who had turned on the jets to get around the left side of the Bears defense.

After Brown equalized on an unassisted strike from Ava DeCoste with under four minutes remaining in the second period, Erbenova provided RPI with the go-ahead score at 2:51 in the third.

Cioffi would follow with her second of the game six minutes later before Kaiser netted another insurance score with less than three minutes remaining.

Phillip and Morgann Skoda propelled the RPI attack with two assists apiece. Georgia Bailey, Sabrina Beaudoin, and Andrea Trnkova each recorded one assist as well. Reese Keating stopped 23-of-24 shots on goal from Brown.

The Engineers will be back in action tomorrow, as #14 Yale visits Houston Field House for a 3:00pm tilt.
