TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team finished their regular season in style, as they scored two goals in the third period to help bring them into a 3-3 tie with No. 12 Princeton Tigers at the Houston Field House on Saturday afternoon.
Princeton scored two goals early in the first period courtesy of Sarah Fillier, putting the first one past RPI goaltender

Fillier connected on the second one just over two minutes later, scoring this time on the power play to make it 2-0 Tigers.
RPI responded early in the second period as

Aylah Cioffi and Andrea earning the assists. The power play goal brought the score to 2-1.
The Engineers were against time throughout the second period, having to kill off nine minutes worth of penalties. Despite not allowing a score down a skater, Princeton took a two-goal lead once again at the 16:08 mark. Gabby Kim scored on even strength, with Jane and Annie Kuehl each assisting on the play as the Tigers took a 3-1 lead into the third period.
Rampado elevated her play in the third period, and her captain counterpart responded with a goal as
Marah Wagner collected goal at the 11:15 mark. After a scramble in front of the net, Wagner got her stick on the puck and lifted it into the net to bring the Engineers back within one, 3-2.
As time ticked down, the Engineers scored the equalizer with 3:39 to play in regulation when Cioffi won the battle in front of the net on a rebound. Her goal tied the game at 3-3, which stood through the horn of the third period.
In overtime, both sides played even – with Rampado making a last-second save in the frame to keep things even for the final score.
Rampado finished with 39 saves on the afternoon, while Princeton goaltender Uma Corniea made 19 for the Tigers.
The Engineers now head to the ECAC Hockey playoffs, locked in as the No. 9 seed as they will head to Providence to take on No. 8 Brown on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. at Meehan Auditorium.
