EWING, N.J. – The No. 29 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team saw their first loss of the season come on Friday afternoon, as the Engineers fell to The College of New Jersey by a final score of 8-1. RPI moves to 2-1 on the spring season.
The lone win of the day for RPI came at #1 doubles, as Aidan Drover-Mattinen and
Andy Zhu took an 8-5 victory early on. However, the Engineers dropped the other two doubles pairings to drop to 2-1 entering singles play.
From there, the Engineers fell on the wrong side of all six singles courts, including the top three finishing in three sets and multiple breakers.
RPI returns to action on Wednesday, March 6 when they face Loyola University (Md.) on their spring break trip to Orlando, Florida.
