POUGHKEEPSIE, NY- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team claimed a 9-4 victory over Liberty League rival Vassar College this afternoon.
Matt Chotiner lead the Engineer lineup with a 3-for-5 effort at the plate.

After Levesque staked the Engineers to a 1-0 advantage with a solo home run in the top of the second, RPI increased its margin with two more runs in the sixth, with Primerano driving in Leseque with a double as part of the big inning.
A two-run double by Vassar's Daniel Laderman cut the RPI lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, however the Engineers were able to manufacture two more runs in the seventh, courtesy of RBI from
Martin Marintchev and
Joey Saia.
The Brewers cut their deficit down to one run again with a two-spot in the eighth, but RPI would seal the win with four runs of insurance in the ninth inning.
Julian Fong-McAdams struck out seven across 6.0 innings to earn the win, while
Cameron Heuer closed out the final two frames to secure the save for the Engineers.
These two squads are set to meet again for a Sunday doubleheader at Robison Field at Karl Steffen Park.
