HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team fell just short in their first matchup of the weekend, as they were defeated by Hamilton College by a final score of 6-3.
The Engineers did not earn a point in doubles play, dropping all three courts. They came on in singles play, splitting the six singles matches. Both
Nicole Ridenour and
Lorna Flores Gonzalez earned victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, with Ridenour earning a straight set 6-3, 6-4 win. Flores Gonzalez took her win in three, coming out victorious by a final score of 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.Â
Lina Krumpel earned the other point for the Engineers, winning at No. 5 singles 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 for the third point of the evening.
RPI returns to action tomorrow on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. when they square off with Ithaca in Liberty League play.
