TROY, NY- The Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team earned a 16-9 victory over Liberty League rival RIT today at ECAV Stadium.
Megan Shay topped the Engineers with five goals, while
Ella Graff netted four scores to lead RPI to the win.
RPI also received two goals from Mia Banglemaier and solo strikes from
Roya Lewis,
Quinn Wollard,
Audrey Silverman,
Emily Speck, and
Lauren DeLeo.
Graff, Speck, Silverman, and DeLeo all provided one assist apiece as well.
The Engineers never trailed in this one, as the first seven scores of the afternoon belonged to RPI. The Engineers' advantage peaked at nine in the second period before the first half ended with the hosts ahead 11-3.
RIT owned all three of the goals scored in the third period to tighten the margin to 11-6 going into the fourth, however the Engineers posted five goals in a row to start the final frame to make things comfortable again.
Looking forward, RPI will next face Middlebury in a 5:30 pm non-conference road matchup on Thursday night.
