MIDDLEBURY, VT - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team had a tall task to handle on Wednesday afternoon, as the Engineers took on and fell to the No. 1 Middlebury Panthers by a final score of 19-1 on the road.
Scoring the lone goal for the Engineers was
Ella Graff in the first quarter, as she collected her 22nd goal of the year with 6:50 to play in the opening frame. Middlebury scored five goal before Graff's tally, making it a 5-1 game at that point.
From there, it was all Panthers as they rattled off 14 straight goals through the final whistle.
Middlebury was led by a pair of five-point games from Hope Shue and Caroline Adams. Shue scored five times, while Adams scored four butr dished one assist.
RPI returns to action next Wedensday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. when they head to Saratoga to take on Skidmore College.
