LATHAM, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team dropped their first conference contest of the year, as they were defeated by Skidmore by a final score of 8-1 at Tri-City Fitness Saturday.
RPI collected their lone point in doubles play, as the top pairing of
Nicole Ridenour and
Lorna Flores Gonzalez took an 8-3 victory. But the Engineers fell in the other two courts, falling behind 2-1 heading into singles play.
In singles, RPI struggled to find points falling on all six courts.
Brooke Bauer went to three sets at No. 6 singles, but could not come out with a victory. All other spots in the lineup lost in straight games.
The Engineers return to action on Friday, April 12 at 4 p.m. when they hit the road to take on the University of Rochester.
