Late Barnes Strike Gives RPI 1-1 Draw at Drew University

MADISON, NJ- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team scored with four minutes remaining to earn a 1-1 draw at Drew University today.

Gwen Barnes found the back of the net with a left-footed strike off a feed from Rachel Borra to provide a late equalizer for RPI. The 86th-minute strike marked the first goal of the season by Barnes.

The Engineers were playing from behind since the 58th minute, when Megan Jozak opened the scoring for the host Rangers.

RPI attempted six more shots than Drew, including a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal. Sarah Crowley made six saves for the Rangers while limiting the RPI offense to just one goal.

The Engineers will return to ECAV Stadium on Wednesday night to host Springfield at 7:00 pm.
