ENDICOTT, Mass.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team suffered a 28-20 setback at nationally-ranked Endicott this afternoon.
RPI held a 20-14 advantage in the middle stages of the third quarter, however the #9/12 ranked Gulls scored the final 14 points off the afternoon to earn the non-conference win.
Jake Kazanowsky tossed two touchdowns for the Engineers, as he connected with Cristian Buckley on a one-yard score and Sean Kelly from seven yards out. Kazanowsky finished 15-of-27 for 179 yards in the air, with 72 going to Kelly
Aleksandar Maric also aided the RPI scoring with two successful field goal attempts.
Facing a six-point deficit late, Endicott quarterback Clayton Marengi found Adam Goodfellow for a 76-yard touchdown immediately following an RPI turnover on downs deep in Gull territory. 
Two plays later after the long score, Gulls defense back Zachariah Twardosky registered a 47-yard pick-six to ice things for the hosts.
Looking ahead, RPI enters Liberty League play next Saturday with a 12:00 pm date at Rochester.
