Men’s Soccer Edged by St. Lawrence in Liberty League Opener

TROY, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's soccer team opened Liberty League play with a 1-0 defeat versus St. Lawrence today in ECAV Stadium.

The lone score of the day came on successful penalty kicks in the 72nd-minute by Henry Brown of St. Lawrence. 

The RPI offense generated 12 shots, including seven chances on goal, however Saints goalkeeper George Charalambous recorded six saves as part of his shutout-effort.

The Engineers will take a week off before traveling to Liberty League rival Union for a 2:00 pm kickoff next Saturday.
