Engineers Stung 1-0 at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) field hockey suffered a 1-0 defeat in a non-conference matchup at Hamilton this evening.

Lydon Kelley registered the only goal of the night seven and a half minutes into the second quarter for Hamilton.

The Continentals held a 7-2 advantage in corner opportunities and outshot the Engineers by a plus-seven margin, however Tess Garchinsky made six saves in net to keep the deficit at just one for RPI. 

Lauren McCarthy and Ria Patel each put a shot on goal for the Engineers.

Looking forward, RPI will look to regroup with a home meeting against Vermont State University Castleton on September 11 at 4:00 pm.
