TROY, N.Y- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's soccer team dropped its home-opener to WPI this afternoon, with the visitors coming away with a 2-0 result at ECAV Stadium.
WPI set the tone with two goals in the first 20 minutes. Anthony Private got the scoring started with a left-footed strike in the 10th minute, which was shortly followed by an un-assisted strike from Fabio Bastida-Andreeu seven minutes later.
RPI was limited to six shots on the day and only registered one shot on goal. WPI generated an 12-6 advantage in overall shots.
Colin Such made three saves in net for the Rensselaer.
RPI will next welcome Keene State to ECAV Stadium for a 3:00 pm non-conference tilt on Wednesday.
