Smith and Flynn Post Double-Doubles in OT Battle at Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's basketball team suffered a one-point overtime defeat tonight at Vassar.

The Brewers received a free throw from Tova Gelb with two seconds remaining in the extra frame to take the 58-57 win.

The two sides required the extra five-minute session after the teams exchanged the lead 19 times and tied on 10 other occasions throughout the evening.

Siena Smith and Callie Flynn each posted double-doubles for the Engineers in the setback.

Smith finished with a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds and Flynn tallied 14 points and topped all players with 13 boards. Tyler Hormazabal added five points and led the Engineers with seven assists.

Looking forward, RPI will finish the weekend with a 2:00 pm contest at Bard tomorrow afternoon.
