SCHENECTADY, NY- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's ice hockey team was on the wrong side of a 2-1 ECAC result at Union tonight.

Ellie Kaiser contributed the lone goal of the night for RPI, as she went top shelf following a perfect cross-ice pass from Sophie Helgeson in the middle of the first. 

The 1-0 margin held firm until the early moments of the third period, when Union scored twice in a three minute span to steal the win.

The shot count favored the Engineers 32-20, however Sophie Matsouka stopped all 24 RPI shots after surrendering the first-period goal. Sophia Jones also earned an assist on the strike from Kaiser.

The two teams will continue the rivalry tomorrow at the Capital District Mayor's Cup at the MVP Arena in downtown Albany. Puck drop is set for 3pm, with tickets available for sale HERE.
