Engineers Overcome 12-Point Halftime Deficit Against Union

TROY, NY- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team overcame a 12-point halftime deficit to secure a 65-60 win against Union this afternoon in ECAV Arena.

The Engineers outscored Union by 17 points across the final 20 minutes thanks to 16-of-22 shooting at the free throw line in the second half.

PJ Scalisi was the high-scorer for RPI with 16 points. Dylan Matchett and Andrew Deppe landed in double-figures as well with 14 and 10, points respectively.

Avery Eugster provided eight points and a team -high eight rebounds. Chuck Clemons also grabbed seven boards, to go along with a seven-point effort. Yasiel Stewart matched Clemons with seven points.

Next up, RPI will head west to challenge RIT at 7:30 pm on Friday night.
