GENEVA, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team dropped a 64-50 result at Liberty League rival Hobart today.
Hobart established an early advantage thanks to strong-shooting from behind the arc. Eight of the Statesmen's 14 first-half field goals came from downtown, as the hosts connected on 66.7 percent on three-point attempts in a opening 20 minutes.
The Statesmen would lead by 10 at halftime before ballooning the margin to as much as 23 in the second half.
Andrew Deppe had a game-high 16 points to go alongside four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block for RPI.
Chuck Clemons and
Avery Eugster hauled in six boards apiece as well.
Looking ahead, the Engineers will return to ECAV Arena for Friday and Saturday league dates with Skidmore and RIT.
