Engineers Battle #8 Quinnipiac

TROY, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's ice hockey team hosted its second nationally-ranked opponent of the weekend, as #9 Quinnipiac visiting Houston Field House to claim a 4-0 result this afternoon.

The Bobcats held a 1-0 lead after one period and scored three more times in the second to account for their offense. Kahlen Lamarche netted the first two goals for Quinnipiac before Maya Labad and Bryn Prier followed with tallies.

RPI blocked a season-high 25 shots in front of Reese Keating, who finished with 34 saves on the day. Sophia Jones accounted for nine of Engineers' blocked shots, which marked single-game career-high for the defender.

Looking forward, the Engineers will close out their 10-game homestand with ECAC matchups against Clarkson and St. Lawrence next Friday and Saturday.
