TROY, NY - The Rensselaer women's soccer team turned in a dominant offensive display this afternoon, scoring three times in the opening 24 minutes and cruising to a 4-0 victory over Bard College in Liberty League action in ECAV Stadium.
The Engineers wasted no time grabbing control, as
Maddy Kaminski opened the scoring in the 13th minute, converting a setup from
Genevieve Ricci. Just over a minute later,
Rachel Borra doubled the lead when she finished off a pass from
Sarah Sedlacek at the 13:21 mark. Borra struck again in the 24th minute for her second of the afternoon, pushing the RPI lead to 3-0 with her fourth goal of the season.
RPI tacked on one more in the 66th minute when
Clara Krumholz found the back of the net on another assist from Ricci, her second of the match. In total, the Engineers tallied 16 shots with eight on target and held a 2-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Rensselaer defense was equally impressive, limiting Bard to just 10 shots, with only five of which were on frame.
Goalkeepers
Audrey Montero and
Ava Gaboury combined for a five-save shutout. Montero played the opening half and made four stops, while Gaboury turned away one shot over the final 45 minutes.
RPI will wrap its fall season with a Saturday home date against #20 William Smith, with kickoff set for 2:00 pm in ECAV.
