BETHLEHEM, PA — The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's cross country team turned in a pair of strong performances at the 2025 Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University, with standout efforts across both the Men's Gold 8K and the Men's Open 8K.
Competing in the prestigious Gold Race, which featured 40 teams including numerous NCAA Division I programs, RPI placed 26th overall in a highly competitive field.
Justin Cascio was the Engineers' top finisher, crossing in 24:33.2 for 105th place, followed closely by
Thomas Manson, who clocked in at 24:36.0 to finish 111th.
Evan Lacey (24:57.4) and
Dom Pena (25:08.0) joined
Jack Loughery (25:03.0) and
Tobin Durham (25:07.2) to round out the scoring pack.
Tevin McLaren crossed the line in 25:27.0, as RPI's top five runners finished within 35 seconds of each other.
In the Men's Open 8K,
Colin Goldschmidt paced the Engineers with an outstanding effort, placing 36th overall with a time of 24:51.8. RPI packed well behind him with
Brady Geisler crossing in 25:19.5, followed by a strong performance from
Nathaniel McKee at 25:30.4.
Murray Copps and
Tyler Husar finished nearly in stride at 25:38.2 and 25:39.6, respectively.
Evan Morrow (25:41.5) and
Samuel Gunther (25:43.8) completed the tightly grouped squad effort.
The Engineers are next set to run on Saturday, October 18, in the final tune up before the Liberty League Championships.
