ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's basketball team defeated Bard 52–30 today at the Stevenson Athletic Center.
Sophie Costello paced a balanced ledger with nine points, three assists and four steals, while
Danielle Strauf hit two threes for six points.
Tyler Hormazabal stuffed the line with five points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals,
Brooke Boyle added four points, three boards and two steals, and
Siena Smith contributed four points with two blocks and two steals.
After the Raptors opened with six of the first eight points, the Engineers flipped the quarter with a 15–2 burst that allowed RPI to establish a lead that reached 18 in the first half.
Defensively, RPI limited the hosts to 26.5% shooting (2-for-19 from three), racked up 20 steals, forced 29 turnovers, and converted them into 24 points with 17 fast-break points and 32 points in the paint.
The Engineers will take a month off before returning to action at home against Bard on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
