TROY, NY- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team claimed a 62-54 win against Bard tonight in ECAV Arena.

The Engineers were paced by Dylan Matchett, PJ Scalisi, and Chuck Clemons, who respectively scored 18, 16, and 15 points in the Liberty League triumph. Matchett and Scalisi hauled in five rebounds while Clemons added four boards and four steals.

RPI scored 21 of the first 27 points of the night, but Bard roared back with a 13-2 sprint that cut that margin to within four in the closing stages of the first half.

Both sides would go stagnant offensively before an RPI rally pushed the advantage the 15 with nine minutes left.

Bard did not go down without a fight, as the Raptors cut the deficit to four with under five minutes to play, however RPI used an 8-2 run to separate for good.

Looking forward, the Engineers will welcome Vassar to Troy tomorrow afternoon for a battle of the top two squads in the Liberty League. Tipoff is set for 4:00 pm in ECAV Arena.
