PRINCETON, NJ - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's ice hockey team used a three-goal second period to tally a 4-3 victory at #13 Princeton today.
Georgia Bailey logged a hat trick in the win for the Engineers, as she scored three straight goals after RPI fell behind in the early moments of the first period.
Bailey first helped the Engineers equalize midway through the first after Princeton found the back of the net in the first 40 seconds of the game.
She would follow with two more strikes in the second, as she bookended the stanza with a goal early and a goal late in the period.
Bailey capped the hat trick at 17:49, which still allowed enough time for Ellie Kaiser to deposit RPI's fourth goal with nine seconds before the period ended. All three of the Engineers' second-period tallies came on the power-play.
Bailey and Kaiser also distributed one assist apiece to close out the night. Andrea Trnkova added two assists and Morgann Skoda provided a helper as well.
The Engineers will start planning for the opening round of the ECAC postseason, which will see RPI return to Princeton next Friday for the one-game matchup against the Tigers.
