TROY, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team earned a 78-51 win against Clarkson tonight in ECAV Arena.
Four different Engineers finished in double-figures, led by a 17-point effort from
Avery Eugster. Eugster also topped the Engineers with seven rebounds, four steals, and a block.
Andrew Deppe and
Yechiel Stewart provided 11 points apiece, and
Pat White netted 10 to cap the high-scorers for RPI. Deppe had six boards and two steals, additionally.
Dylan Matchett logged six points, six assists, and two steals, while
PJ Scalisi swiped two steals as well.
The Engineers enjoyed a 22-point advantage at halftime after shooting 16-of-28 (57 percent) from the floor to start the game. RPI also hit 7 of its first 10 three-pointers to help manufacture the big lead.
RPI forced 18 turnovers from Clarkson, which is the third-most takeaways by the Engineers in a single-game this winter.
Looking ahead, RPI will continue its push towards the Liberty League postseason with a 4:00pm meeting tomorrow with St. Lawrence.
