Men’s Hockey Nearly Finishes Comeback Effort at Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team fought back from a 2-0 deficit before Harvard scored with three minutes remaining to tally a 3-2 ECAC victory.

Will Gilson and Jagger Tapper netted third period goals to help the Engineers erase a multi-goal deficit.

Gilson scored four minutes into period using assists from Tapper and Tyler Hotson.

Tapper deposited a power-play goal at 15:54 in the third with help from John Beaton and Elliott McDermott. Harvard would score the game-winner 48 seconds later, however.

Gilson put seven shots on goal for RPI, while Beaton, Hotson, and Tapper each put three attempts on goal.

RPI will look ahead to the final stretch of the regular season, which features Colgate and Cornell visiting Houston Field House on Friday and Saturday next weekend.
