SCHENECTADY, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's basketball team traveled to Liberty League rival Union tonight, where the Garnet Chargers earned a 59-46 win over the Engineers.
Siena Smith had 11 points, four rebounds, and four steals in the setback.
Ashlyn O'Neil finished with eight points and two assists, and
Marley Mueller and
Julia Rowe logged six rebounds each for the Engineers.
RPI sprinted ahead to an early first quarter lead, however Union would score 21 of the final 28 points of the first half after the Engineers shot 1-of-14 from the floor in the second quarter.
Jelena Perovic helped Union to the win with game-highs of 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Looking forward, the Engineers travel to Ithaca for a 2:00 pm contest tomorrow.
