TROY, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team defeated the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 29-1 today at Karl Steffens Ballpark.
Nine different Engineers logged two or more hits to help RPI post its most runs in a single game since 2010.
Michael Lebenson had three hits and scored a team-high six runs in the win. Matt Chotiner, Tucker Brown, Owen Burnsworth, and Cam Hawley all matched Lebenson with three hits each as well.
Brown topped the Engineers with four RBI, and Chotiner added four runs and three RBI. Robbie Reddington drove in two runs and Kyle Justo had three RBI, additionally.
Burnsworth, Ian Oehlschlaeger, and Aidan Hicks had two RBI and two runs apiece. Burnsworth, Oehlschlaeger, and Julian Scarpa all left the park with home runs out to left field.
The RPI pitching combo of Dutch Hamilton, Rylan Wade, Zach Zajac, Dylan Watson, Jack Ellis, and Sam Kuss all worked together to blank the Trail Blazers over the final seven innings.
The Engineers next host SUNY Cobleskill at 4:00 pm on Friday afternoon.
