SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team took down Skidmore 5-2 today in Saratoga.
The #14 nationally-ranked Engineers were successful in four singles matches, as well as two of the three doubles contests to secure the Liberty Liberty league match victory.
Aiden Drover-Mattinen, Andy Zhu, Archit Yemula, and Tsubasa Okada were all triumphant for RPI as the respective top-four singles players.
Drover-Mattinen (6-2, 6-1), Zhu (7-6, 6-4), and Okada (7-6, 6-2) all cruised in the #1, #2, and #4 slots, while Yemula fought for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win as the #3.
The pairings of Drover-Mattinen / Zhu (6-4) and Okada / Joel McCandless (7-5) each came out on top to give the Engineers the extra point from the doubles play.
Winners of six matches in a row, RPI next challenges Amherst on Friday at 3:30 pm in Massachusetts.
