ROCHESTER, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team fell 16-7 at the Rochester Institute of Technology today.

Kira Abdelsayed led RPI with three goals, while Ava Gilardone, Ella Graff, Lauren DeLeo, and Lisa Boehmer had one score each.

The Engineers scored four goals in the opening 15 minutes. Abdelsayed scored twice, and DeLeo and Boehmer contributed a tally apiece to help RPI stay within 6-4 after one quarter. 

Abdelsayed scored her third goal of the day early in the second, with Graff following later in the stanza.

The Tigers rallied for seven of the final eight goals of the day. Ava Gilardone had the final goal for RPI in the fourth quarter.

Kate McFeeley highlighted the Engineers' defensive effort with two caused turnovers and four ground balls. Gilardone forced two turnovers and scooped a pair of ground balls as well.

RPI is back in action on Wednesday at 6:00 pm at Union.
