JACKSON, MS - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team was stumbled against at MUW and Milksops College today in central Mississippi.
RPI fell 5-4 in game one before suffering a 9-4 defeat in the day's second game.
Ian Oehlschlaeger,
Jon Primerano,
Julian Scarpa, and
Ayush Krishnappa provided two hits apiece in the opener.
RPI posted three runs in the third after Oehlschlaeger and
Michael Lebenson were both hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Primerano also contributed to the second inning scoring, as he sent a single through the left side that plated
Jack Mullins.
Primerano registered another RBI in the fourth inning with a single up the middle that brought home Lebenson.
RPI enjoyed its advantage until the late innings, when the Owls scored five runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.
The Engineers fell behind early in game two, as Millsaps College scored five runs in the first two innings.
Primerano produced RPI's first run of the finale with a RBI groundout in the top of the third. He also drove in a run with double in the ninth inning. The Engineers received an RBI-single from
Kameron Levesque as well.
RPI will square off will Millsaps one more time tomorrow at 2:30 pm EST.
