Engineers Have Quiet Afternoon Versus Ithaca

TROY, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) softball team suffered 8-0 and 7-1 setbacks against Ithaca today on Doris Robison Field.

Callista Adorno highlighted the RPI offense with a 2-for-4 effort in game two. Adorno produced the only run of the afternoon for RPI when she singled home Lauren Cosselman in the bottom of the seventh.

Cosselman and Sydney Speanburg were on base twice with a hit and walk, and Evann McDowell and Sarah Decker tallied one hit apiece in the finale.

McDowell had the only night for RPI in game one, which saw the Bombers win in five innings.

The Engineers will look to regroup before traveling to Rochester for a league doubleheader on Friday.
