Engineers Fall to Skidmore

TROY, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team was dealt a 13-9 Liberty League defeat against Skidmore tonight in ECAV Stadium.

Quinn Wollard scored a team-leading three goals. Ella Graff and Lisa Boehmer netted two scores each and Camille Stackhouse and Lauren DeLeo provided one goal apiece in the tight battle.

Boehmer and Stackhouse found the back of the net early to give RPI a 2-1 lead after 15 minutes. The Thoroughbreds would register the first three goals of the second, however the Engineers would recover to tie things at 6-6 at halftime thanks to solo scores by DeLeo and Graff followed by two goals from Wollard late in the frame.

Boehmer, Graff, and Wollard accounted for the second-half scoring for RPI. Despite an even shot count between the two sides, Skidmore owned seven of the 10 goals registered in the second half.

Boehmer topped the Engineers with three caused turnovers and six ground balls. Emily Speck caused two turnovers and Maddie Phelan, Sofia Cedrone, and Ava Gilardone had one caused turnover each on the defensive end.

The Engineers will next welcome Ithaca to Troy for Saturday's Senior Day contest. The action is set to start at 12:00 pm in ECAV Stadium.
