Gauri Muliyil of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Year, following voting from the league's nine head coaches. In addition to Muliyil's award, the Engineers saw
Nicole Ridenour and
Lorna Flores Gonzalez recognized with All-League honors in both singles and doubles play.
Muliyil's honor marks the second time since 2022-23 that an RPI Women's Tennis player has been recognized with the conference Rookie of the Year award. She compiled a 17-8 overall record and a 12-4 mark in dual matches (7-1 Liberty League), where she split time between number two and number three singles. At number two, she was unbeaten at 6-0 and from number three, she went 6-4. Muliyil advanced to the third round of the ITA Northeast Regional in the fall.
In doubles action, Guliyil finished the year at 7-7 overall, including a 7-0 record in league play. Muliyil helped RPI earn the third seed in the Liberty League tournament, where the Engineers advanced to the semifinals
Ridenour and Flores Gonzalez were respectively named first team and second team all-conference in singles, while joining forces to earn second team all-league accolades as a doubles team.
