Ridenour, Jaiswal, Muliyil, and Wheeler Named Women's Tennis All-Liberty League Following Historic Season

TROY, N.Y. — The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis program was recognized in the Liberty League's postseason awards announced today, capping a historic spring in which the Engineers captured the program's first-ever Liberty League Championship, earned their first NCAA Tournament appearance, and secured the first NCAA victory in program history with an opening-round win over Allegheny. In addition, Head Coach Justin Roe and his staff were named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.

On the court, Nicole Ridenour earned First Team All-Liberty League honors in singles after delivering key performances at the top of the lineup. Competing at No. 1 singles, Ridenour posted a 7–8 overall record and went 4–1 in Liberty League play.

Ridenour's impact extended into doubles as well, where she teamed with Anushka Jaiswal at No. 1 doubles to compile a 9–6 record. The duo's steady play and big-match results also earned them First Team All-Liberty League recognition in doubles.

RPI added two more All-League singles selections, as Wheeler and Gauri Muliyil each received Second Team All-Liberty League honors. Wheeler played a major role in the Engineers' rise, finishing 9–7 overall in singles and excelling at No. 3 with a 7–3 mark, good for the fourth-best winning percentage in the Liberty League at that position. Muliyil provided strength near the top of the order, also going 9–7 overall in singles while owning the fourth-best winning percentage in the conference at No. 2 singles.
