POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's cross country team continued its 2025 season with a commanding performance, capturing the team title at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational today. The Engineers placed five runners in the top 10 and eight in the top 16 on the 6K course at Vassar Farm.
RPI was led by
Danny Gall, who posted a time of 19:34.1 to finish fifth overall, setting the tone for a deep and well-packed lineup.
Joey Smith followed close behind in seventh place (19:36.9), with
Dom Peña (19:40.5) and
Samuel Gunther (19:41.9) taking eighth and ninth, respectively. Rounding out the scoring was
Colin Goldschmidt, who clocked in at 19:43.1 for tenth place.
Also contributing to the team's dominant showing were
Tevin McLaren (12th, 19:48.0),
Gwilym Horner (14th, 19:48.3), and
Nathaniel McKee (16th, 19:50.2) — all finishing within 16 seconds of the team's lead runner. The spread between the first five finishers was just nine seconds, highlighting the Engineers' tight formation and depth.
The Engineers return to action next Saturday when they travel to Williams College for the Purple Valley Classic.
