Women's Hockey Resumes ECAC Play at #17 Brown

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team delivered a strong road performance and held a three-goal lead late into the third period before #17 Brown rallied to claim a 4–3 overtime decision this evening at Meehan Auditorium .

The Engineers controlled the middle portion of the game with a pair of second-period goals just 17 seconds apart. RPI opened the scoring at 5:56 of the second when Mia Montanari capitalized on the power play, snapping home her fourth goal of the season off a setup from Sophia Jones. Moments later, Victoria Savage doubled the advantage at 6:13, as she used assists from Charlotte Wensley and Montanari to net her first career collegiate goal.

RPI continued to dictate play into the third period and stretched the lead to three at 9:26 when Sabrina Beaudoin converted on the power play. Beaudoin's goal, assisted by Gracyn Mackay and Nina Christof, marked the Engineers' second power-play tally of the night.

Brown answered with three goals over the final 10 minutes of regulation to force overtime. The Bears secured the extra point at 1:32 of the overtime period on a sudden-death tally from India McDadi.

The Engineers will look to regroup with a 3:00 pm date at Yale tomorrow.
